Discipled Youth Academy Student Code of Conduct


Introduction

As students of a Christian Academy, we are called to reflect Christ in all aspects of our lives. This Student Code of Conduct is designed to foster a nurturing and respectful environment that honors God, respects others, and encourages academic and personal growth.

Core Values

  1. Faith: We commit to growing in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ and living out our faith in everyday actions.
  2. Respect: We treat all individuals with kindness, dignity, and respect, recognizing the inherent worth of each person.
  3. Integrity: We strive to be honest and ethical in all our interactions and endeavors.
  4. Excellence: We pursue excellence in our academic, spiritual, and personal lives.
  5. Community: We support and encourage one another, fostering a sense of unity and belonging.

General Expectations

  1. Behavior and Conduct
    • Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in your words and actions.
    • Show respect to teachers, staff, fellow students, and visitors.
    • Use language that is edifying and refrain from profanity, gossip, and negative speech.
    • Follow the school’s dress code, ensuring attire is modest and appropriate.
    • Attend and participate respectfully in the classroom and in all activities.
  2. Academic Integrity
    • Commit to honest and diligent study habits.
    • Submit original work and give proper credit to sources when completing assignments.
    • Refrain from cheating, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty.
  3. Respect for Property
    • Treat school property and the property of others with care.
    • Refrain from vandalism, theft, or misuse of school facilities and resources.
  1. Safety and Well-Being
    • Avoid behaviors that endanger the health, safety, or well-being of oneself or others.
    • Report any unsafe or harmful situations to a trusted adult immediately.
  2. Digital Citizenship
    • Use technology responsibly and ethically, respecting the privacy and dignity of others.
    • Avoid all profanity and any inappropriate digital use in class and at all activities. 
    • Follow the school’s guidelines for acceptable use of digital devices and internet resources.


Discipline and Accountability

  1. Minor Infractions
    • Handled by teachers or staff with a focus on corrective guidance.
    • May include verbal warnings, written reflections, or temporary loss of privileges.
  2. Major Infractions
    • Addressed by the school administration and may involve parent/guardian meetings.
    • Consequences may include a call to a parent, getting picked up early, suspension, or expulsion, depending on the severity of the offense.

As students of Discipled Youth Academy, we commit to personal and communal growth, striving to embody the teachings of Christ in all aspects of our lives. We acknowledge our responsibility to uphold this Code of Conduct and to support one another in this journey.
